LIPO MICC Injections: Mechanisms, Benefits, and Clinical Insights

Lipotropic compounds are those that help catalyze the breakdown of fat during metabolism in the body.

Combined with lifestyle modification such as diet and exercise, lipotropic injections can promote fat and weight loss.

Injections provide the advantage of better bioavailability, and are especially beneficial in individuals that have gastrointestinal absorption issues.

MICC Injection

MICC is an injectable solution that supports fat loss by boosting overall energy, reducing fat deposits and accelerating metabolic processes. It’s ideal for those looking to enhance metabolic functions within a medically supervised program.

The MICC injection contains the lipotropic combination of methionine, inositol and choline amino acids. The word “lipotropic” means “promoting physiologic utilization of fat”.

Methionine: a sulfur-containing essential amino acid that improves the tone and elasticity of skin, promotes healthy hair and strengthen nails. It helps the absorption of nutrients such as selenium and zinc. It aids the body in the excretion of heavy metals such as lead and mercury. As a lipotropic agent it can help to prevent fat buildup in the liver, and has been found to assist in lowering cholesterol by increasing lecithin production in the liver.

Inositol: a carbohydrate that is found in the body and certain foods. Inositol is used to reduce triglycerides, cholesterol, and reduce blood pressure in people with metabolic syndrome. For polycystic ovarian syndrome, Inositol reduces triglycerides, improves blood sugar regulation, and enhances ovulation. We have administered MIC injection and have increased pregnancy rates with our PCOS patients.

Choline: an essential nutrient that helps support the procession and release of waste from the liver, the transport and metabolism of fats and cholesterol, and the health of the endocrine and cardiovascular system. Choline aids in normalizing cholesterol metabolism, improves liver function, helps with memory, and maintains a healthy nervous system.

Cyanocobalamin (Cyano): A form of vitamin B12, it aids in energy production by converting carbohydrates into glucose, boosting energy levels and supporting metabolic functions.

Precautions/Side Effects

For most patients MICC Injections are safe.

Most patients will feel no side effects other than a suppressed appetite and weight loss. While generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects such as:

• Irritation or redness at the injection site
• Temporary fatigue or nausea.

While these side effects are rare it is important to discuss any concerns that you may have with Dr. Jessica Gallegos-White, LAc.

Lipo-Mino-Mix-C Injection

Frequently Asked Questions

• What is the best injection frequency for MICC or LIPO-C?

Most protocols use 1–2 injections per week, given either intramuscularly or subcutaneously. Weekly dosing is common to help support ongoing metabolic and liver-related benefits without overuse. We recommend a series of 4 injections of once per week, for optimal results.

Daily injections are usually not recommended, as they can increase irritation at the injection site without adding much extra benefit.

• How long does it take to notice metabolic effects from MICC or LIPO-C?

With consistent use, liver-related markers like triglycerides, ALT, and AST may start to improve within 4–6 weeks, especially in fatty liver cases. LIPO-C’s L-carnitine may support fat oxidation within 2–3 weeks in people who are low in carnitine. However, visible body composition changes usually take 8–12 weeks and typically require a calorie deficit plus resistance training.

• Are there any populations that should avoid MICC or LIPO-C injections?

Individuals with hypersensitivity to any component (methionine, inositol, choline, L-carnitine, B-vitamins) should not use either formulation. High-dose methionine may be contraindicated in subjects with elevated homocysteine or impaired methylation pathways (MTHFR polymorphisms). Patients with active liver disease, renal impairment, or bleeding disorders should consult a physician before using lipotropic injections. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid these formulations due to insufficient safety data.

• Can I combine MICC and LIPO-C in the same injection plan?

Usually, it’s unnecessary to combine them because LIPO-C already contains the main ingredients found in MICC, plus added L-carnitine and B vitamins. Using both together may simply double up on overlapping ingredients like methionine, inositol, and choline without providing extra benefits.

If stronger support is needed, it’s often better to adjust the dose or frequency of one formula instead of using both at the same time.
